10:00 am - 12:00 pm
  • St Albans Community Centre, 33 Princess Street, St Albans

Learn how to photograph your artwork using just your smartphone in this practical workshop designed for artists.

Participants will explore phone settings, lighting techniques, composition, and simple editing methods to create high-quality images of their work. The session includes live demonstrations and take-home handouts, giving you the skills and confidence to document your artwork professionally using accessible tools.

Topics include;

– What apps and phone settings to use
– What equipment is needed
– How to light 2D artworks using artificial and natural light
– How to create and compose engaging photos of artworks and exhibitions
– How to organise and edit images on your phone
– Dealing with tricky conditions (e.g. works behind glass)
– Presented by Chris from Kindred Camera as part of our INfuse Artist Networking Program – designed to connect our creative community and provide a platform for learning and inspiration through workshops, artist talks and presentations.

Chris is an award winning photographer and artist who’s been taking photos for 15 years and been teaching for around half of that.
He works extensively with both digital and analogue images, and splits his time between running Kindred Cameras, teaching photography at RMIT, and working as a photographer, where he specialises in photographing artists and their artworks.
