Seniors Festival – Walking Basketball

October 22, 2026

11:30 am - 12:30 pm
  • 135 Stadium Drive Keilor Park

Get ready to enjoy a low-impact, social twist on the world’s favourite team sport! Our Walking Basketball program offers a fun, inclusive, and relaxed way to stay active while connecting with others. Whether you’re a former player wanting to get back on the court or trying basketball for the very first time, you’ll love the friendly, supportive environment we’ve created.

What is Walking Basketball?

Walking Basketball takes all the fun of basketball — passing, shooting, teamwork — and removes the running, jumping, and contact, so it’s easy on the joints and open to all fitness levels. It’s a great way to improve your coordination, cardiovascular health, and social connections, all at a pace that suits you. The game is easy to pick up, making it suitable for everyone, from complete beginners to former players easing back into the sport.

Program Details:

What to Expect During the Sessions:

Our sessions are social and designed to be inclusive, making it possible for people of all ages and abilities to participate. You’ll have the chance to join in friendly, low-impact games with others, mixing up teams and opponents throughout the session, so you’re always engaged and meeting new people. Whether you’re a beginner or a former player, our friendly staff will help you get organised, explain the rules, and assist you in joining the games. Don’t worry if you’ve never played before — our staff will guide you through the basics, ensuring you’re comfortable and ready to enjoy the game.

No Gear? No Problem!

We provide all the equipment you need, including basketballs and bibs, so just bring yourself, comfortable shoes, and your enthusiasm!

Whether you’re looking to stay active, rebuild fitness after time away from sport, or just have a fun, low-impact way to move and socialise, Walking Basketball at Keilor has something for everyone. See you on the court!
