Olives to Oil – Westside

May 26, 2024

11:00 am - 3:00 pm
  • Bennett Place carpark opposite Visy Cares Hub (80 Harvester Road, Sunshine)

Presented in partnership with My Smart Garden, Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong and Wyndham Councils, Olives to Oil is an annual event run by CERES, bringing people together to harvest olives and have them pressed communally into delicious, local olive oil.

We’re thrilled with how popular Olives to Oil has become, growing exponentially year on year. To help cope with this demand and ensure more people have delicious oil to enjoy, there will be some changes to the program this year – please read the details carefully even if you have participated before.

Olive drop off
Tickets are essential to take part, we won’t be able to accept olives which aren’t planned for this year.

When booking you’ll be asked to select a weight category you expect to pick. Small quantities (under 20kg) remain free so everyone can participate, but larger quantities will be asked to contribute to help cover costs.

Book a time to bring your olives to one of the following locations:

  • Day 1 – Sunday 26 May 11am-3pm: Bennett Place carpark opposite Visy Cares Hub (80B Harvester Road, Sunshine)
  • Day 2 – Sunday 2 June 11am-3pm: Werribee location.

Due to the popularity of the program in 2024 tickets are only available to residents of participating councils – Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Maribyrnong and Wyndham. Please bring proof of address with you when you drop off your olives.

Olive pick up
You (or a friend or family member) must be available to collect your oil on Sunday 23 June in Werribee. If you miss this day, there will be no further opportunity to pick up your oil.

  • Day 3 – Sunday 23 June 11am-3pm: Werribee location.
