Brimbank Libraries, in partnership with Vision Australia Radio, are celebrating the best writers that the Western suburbs have to offer!

Join as we announce the winners of our 2025 microfiction competition, judged by award winning writer T.R Napper, on Vision Australia Radio.

T. R. Napper is a multi-award-winning science fiction author. His honours include the prestigious Aurealis three times (Best Horror Short Story 2016, Best Science Fiction Novella 2020, Best Science Fiction Novel 2022). His short fiction has appeared in Asimov’s, Interzone, the Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, and numerous others, and been translated into six different languages.

Before turning to writing, T. R. Napper was a diplomat and aid worker, delivering humanitarian programs in Southeast Asia for a decade. During this period he was a resident of the Old Quarter in Hanoi for several years, the setting for his acclaimed debut novel, 36 Streets (2022).

These days he has returned to his home country of Australia, where, in addition to his writing, runs art therapy programs for people with disabilities.
