Brimbank City Council has partnered with the Victorian Local Government Association (VLGA) to provide prospective Brimbank Candidates with practical information on what it means to be a Councillor. The information will be presented to anyone interested over six sessions in early to mid-August.

All sessions will be held via Zoom, you will need the below details to attend.

Sessions 1-3 will cover becoming a councillor, understanding election campaign essentials, and prioritising self-care in public office.

Sessions 4-6 will provide women candidates with information on being a woman councillor, leveraging leadership experience, and staying safe whilst conducting your campaign, managing gender-based backlash and practising resistance.

In module 6 women candidates will learn how to stay safe on the campaign trail, to manage gender-based backlash and resistance to their campaigns, as well as sexual harassment and online abuse.
