Brimbank City Council has partnered with the Victorian Local Government Association (VLGA) to provide prospective Brimbank Candidates with practical information on what it means to be a Councillor. The information will be presented to anyone interested over six sessions in early to mid-August.

All sessions will be held via Zoom, you will require the information below to attend.

Sessions 1-3 will cover becoming a councillor, understanding election campaign essentials, and prioritising self-care in public office.

Sessions 4-6 will provide women candidates with information on being a woman councillor, leveraging leadership experience, and staying safe whilst conducting your campaign, managing gender-based backlash and practising resistance.

Module 4 will provide women candidates with an opportunity to hear from previous women councillors about their experiences representing local community.
