Fruit trees can be incredibly generous – but to enjoy a bountiful harvest year after year, they need the right care.
Join us for this hands-on outdoor workshop, where you’ll learn the basics of fruit tree maintenance, including pruning techniques and year-round care. Set in the scenic garden of Horseshoe Bend Community Farm, this demonstration will be led by the knowledgeable team from Fruit Tree Folk.
Accessibility:
The garden area is mostly flat, but as it is a working farm, there may be some uneven ground and single steps to navigate. Seating is limited, and participants should expect to stand for extended periods. Please wear appropriate clothing – closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, and a hat are recommended. In case of bad weather, the workshop will be cancelled.
This event is part of the Olives to Oil Westside series. With plenty of olive trees scattered across Melbourne’s west, it’s a great time to gather some olives, drop them off at our collection days in Sunshine or Newport this May, and pick up your own bottle of freshly pressed community olive oil at our Festival on Sunday 1 June.
