Australian Bush Comfort & Confidence Workshop

May 9, 2026

3:00 pm - 5:30 pm
  • Westvale Community Centre - 45 Kings Road, Kings Park, 3021

Are you new to Australia or just not confident stepping in to the Australian bush but wish that you could?

Let ecologist Rob Richards who spent 20 years living in the bush show you the tricks, tips, safety advice and knowledge to get you outdoors. Come and join us for a fun filled afternoon where you will get hands on and learn about how to enjoy the wonders of the Australian bush safely and confidently.

Learn about bushfire awareness, weather dangers, planning a trip, know what to take (and not take!) on a camping trip and get hands on as you practice how to set up a tent, know how to pick a safe campsite, how to safely light, manage and extinguish a campfire, know more about spiders and snakes including snake and spider bite first aid, practice bush skills like navigation and even learn some Aussie bush slang.

This is a Brimbank City Council event, run by It’s Naturally You.

Cost: $10 refundable deposit (per single, couple or family).
